Objectives
We all consume clothes, but how much do we really know about their impact? Inspired by the Lët'z Refashion, this workshop explores the environmental and social challenges facing the textile industry, and proposes concrete ways to adopt more ethical and sustainable fashion.
Through an analysis of the practices of fast-fashion, the «disposable» fashion phenomenon that dominates global production today, we encourage participants to develop critical thinking about the effects of overconsumption and overproduction, and their consequences for the environment and human rights. This topic resonates particularly with young people, for whom clothing plays an important role in the construction of their identity and membership of social groups.
In this workshop, we also make the link with the philosophy of the ‘buyerarchy of needs’, this is why we've launched a new initiative, which encourages people to opt for simple, accessible solutions such as reusing, repairing or exchanging their clothes, before considering a new purchase. These practical, cost-effective alternatives not only reduce our ecological footprint, but also enable us to adopt a more conscious approach to fashion.
