METEOR Kit: «One day, I'll be Médecin Sans Frontières» (Doctors Without Borders)»
Objectives
- Raise awareness among 5th and 6th grade primary school students of humanitarian values and issues witnessed by MSF teams.
- Introduce them to other realities through the stories of children their own age, offering a different perspective on current events in so-called developing countries.
- Make teachers aware of the different contexts in which MSF operates.
Program
Meteor is an educational kit specially designed for children aged 10 to 12 (5th and 6th grade). « One day, I'll be a Doctors Without Borders »takes an in-depth look at emergency humanitarian aid, following the adventures of 11-year-olds Cléry and Valentine, who dream of one day becoming Médecins Sans Frontières. Through a series of interviews with people working in the field, students are plunged into the heart of emergency medical aid as they follow the two mini reporters behind the scenes at Médecins Sans Frontières.
Methodological approaches
This awareness-raising initiative, initiated by the video, is complemented by brochures for schoolchildren and an educational pack for teachers. These tools are available to teachers free of charge.
Remarks
The teaching materials made available to teachers free of charge enable them to program activities without the need for an external facilitator. They can be ordered directly from the Médecins Sans Frontières Luxembourg website.
