Objectives
Do you work with children or young teenagers and want to talk to them about children's rights?
We're delighted to present you with our educational kit on children's rights, giving you an introduction to the subject, including their history and the situation in Luxembourg. For children to claim their rights, for themselves and for others, they must first know and understand them.
This is precisely what we're aiming for: with our kit, we offer teachers and educators the chance to tackle the theme of children's rights in a fun and participatory way with their pupils.
Time's Up, Tabou, role-playing games, pantomime, dominoes or memory, all centered on children's rights, are just a few examples of the activities on offer.
This kit is designed to help children become aware of their needs and understand the link between these needs and their rights.
Program
This informal training course provides an introduction to the subject of children's rights, covering their origins, their historical development and the current situation in Luxembourg.
It also encourages exchange and reflection between participants.
Secondly, the educational kit on children's rights is presented. The various games it contains are briefly explained.
Participants are free to explore the content, ask questions and familiarize themselves with the proposed pedagogical approach.
Methodological approaches
In addition to more than 20 games, the case contains photocopiable cards and an educational file.
This dossier, designed for education staff, brings together essential information on :
-
the Convention on the Rights of the Child,
-
the link between sustainable development (Agenda 2030) and the realization of children's rights,
-
background information on each of the ten fundamental rights presented.
When designing the kit, particular attention was paid to the inclusiveness of the materials. The games were developed with the support of a pedagogue specializing in multiple intelligences.
Each game includes a set of instructions, specifying :
duration, target audience, level of difficulty, equipment required and group mode of operation.
Remarks
The teaching kit can be borrowed free of charge.
