Organization visions

UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, is mandated by the United Nations General Assembly to defend children's rights, help meet their basic needs and promote their full development.

Our vision is to build a society where the rights of every child are fully respected, known and defended. To achieve this, we mobilize resources to support UNICEF projects around the world, while carrying out concrete education, awareness-raising and advocacy actions in Luxembourg.

For example, we visit schools to talk to pupils about their rights, develop teaching aids for teachers, and organize awareness-raising campaigns on major issues affecting young people.

At the same time, we closely monitor the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in Luxembourg. We make recommendations and draw up reports on the situation of children's rights in Luxembourg.

UNICEF focuses its efforts on the following 5 priority areas: girls' education, early childhood, expanded vaccination programs, the fight against HIV/AIDS, and the protection of children against violence, exploitation and discrimination.

Thus, the priority theme for their development education actions is Children's Rights.
