Organization visions

The Our Nature Park, a rural area in the north of the Oesling region, offers an impressive density of landscapes. Covering an area of 491 km², ten communities with a population of around 30,000 have joined forces to reconcile nature conservation with the region's economic development.

 

Experiences

The Park's mission is to awaken young people's interest in the natural and cultural features of the region. The park has set up a varied program of discovery activities for children. The themes covered include: flora and fauna, climate, environmental protection, guided tours of the park's sites, etc.
various themed trails and activities linked to the Park's permanent exhibition.
In addition, the Park organizes the Fête du Parc for children and young people. In addition, the School of Taste provides an opportunity to learn about regional products. The Education in Nature Parks project is aimed specifically at schools.

Missions of the organization

According to the law on nature parks, the objectives of a nature park are :
--the conservation and restoration of the character and diversity of the natural environment and native flora and fauna,
--safeguarding air and water purity and soil quality,
--conservation and restoration of cultural heritage,
--the promotion and orientation of economic and socio-cultural development, integrating the legitimate aspirations of the population in terms of employment opportunities, quality of life and housing,
--promoting and guiding tourism and leisure activities.

Organization objectives

The Park's 1st objective is to preserve landscapes worthy of protection while enabling the region's economic development. Through various projects in the fields of nature and climate protection, agriculture, culture and tourism, the Park aims to improve the quality of life of its population.
