Médecins sans Frontières (MSF) is an international humanitarian medical aid organization, providing assistance to populations in distress in over 60 countries, without discrimination as to race, religion, philosophy or politics.
Since its creation in 1971, MSF has acted in accordance with the principles of humanitarian action: independence, impartiality and neutrality. Awareness of these principles enables the learner to better understand the environment in which emergency care is delivered.
Development education is an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of the principle of solidarity and the right to humanitarian assistance for the most vulnerable populations in low- and middle-income countries.

The themes of refugees, neglected diseases, access to healthcare, malnutrition, HIV/AIDS, operational research and maternal health are addressed through a variety of educational tools and activities.
The objective is to present a concrete situation in which MSF intervenes to provide relevant medical assistance in order to present the contextualized challenges of humanitarian medical action, the need for a "medical response" and the need for a "humanitarian response".
