and values of scouting through education
young people to build a world
better.
NGDO Guiden a Scouten fir ENG Welt believes
education as a lever for development.
It is a Scout-type NGO based
on the values and principles of scouting,
to support its education and training
development awareness in the North
as in the South.

Promote sustainable development by facilitating access to education and vocational training in our partner countries, and by raising young people's awareness in Luxembourg of the problem of North-South inequalities in the world.

Experiences

Since its inception, ONG-D has regularly organized workcamps in partner countries to raise awareness among young LGS staff of the realities of the South and the management of a cooperation project.

In 2010, a group of young volunteers from ONG-D created an educational binder entitled «Zesumme fir ENG Welt», containing educational games aimed at young LGS leaders.

Since 2010, ONG-D has been offering several modules in the basic training of non-formal education leaders within the LGS youth movement (on average some 120 young people).

Finally, ONG-D is regularly involved in information and awareness-raising workshops in primary and secondary schools.

Organization objectives

The activities offered by our NGO to primary and secondary schools are designed to help young people understand the problems of social, economic, cultural and ecological inequalities in the North and South, by showing them concrete possibilities for commitment and action.

Within the «Letzebuerger Guiden a Scouten» scout movement, the aim is to sensitize and train volunteer scout-guide leaders and equip them with practical activities to implement as
multipliers with the children and young people they supervise.

Respect for human rights, commitment to the environment
in both North and South, the development
sustainable.
These major areas represent our
convictions and main objectives that we
we are trying to put into practice with «learning
by doing», an idea dear to the founder of
scouting, Lord R.Baden Powell, enabling
workshops and educational games that reflect
experiences with our partners
to the south.
