Organization visions

Our conceptual framework is the’ Agenda 2030 , which brings together the three pillars of social, economic and ecological sustainability .

The main objective is to develop educational resources, facilitate dialogue and communication, and promote awareness-raising activities on sustainability themes among students, school staff, teachers, citizens, institutions and public and private companies, in order to foster cultural change towards an egalitarian, inclusive and «green» society.

GaiaLux adopts the vision of a single interconnected family, forcing us to question our traditional scientific and cultural mindset and use an interdisciplinary methodology.

Fundamentally, we envisage a profound rethinking of our relationship with nature and with other human beings, within the framework of a "new world".  Oikos This unique environment must be preserved for future generations, creating equal opportunities and a high quality of life for all.

Experiences

Gaialux was officially created in 2022.

So far, she has promoted Sustainable Week events in European schools (refashion corner - running conferences and workshops).

It organized two public events to promote and raise awareness of the Agenda 2030 themes.

She is currently implementing the Idee en Action project, supported by the Summers Foundation. https://gaialux.lu/activities/ideeenaction/

Without being exhaustive, Gaialux aims to: - Contribute to activities linked to issues concerning “sustainability” at different levels: environmental, social, cultural and economic; - Develop actions contributing to the development of a “new culture” of society and of the relationship between man and nature, based on scientific foundations but tending to its harmonious persistence between generations; - Disseminate ’information“, training and research through all channels deemed effective: websites, social and collaborative networks, conferences, debates, screenings, cooperation and research projects in collaboration with universities and other institutes, collecting and elaborating documentary material, publications, organizing training courses and public conferences; - The creation of a ”network“ linking associations in Luxembourg and Europe pursuing the same goals; - The development of an ”annual program of activities“, collaborations and meetings on the subjet; - To participate, within the framework of Luxembourg and European Union activities, in all national and international ”projects“ directly linked to its social object; - To set up all ”activities“ linked, directly and/or indirectly, to its social object, and necessary to achieve its objective.

Remarks

Gaialux proposes a journey of reflection on sustainability, guided by the red thread of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), through the art exhibition I.D.E.E. (Images, Droits, Espoirs, Engagement).
This exhibition is a visual and virtual toolbox, combining artworks, narrative narratives and interactive infographics, accessible via QR code.

Thanks to the professional experience of our team, we also offer specific expertise on several SDGs, including :

  • ODD 1 & 2 Fighting poverty and hunger, with a focus on food sovereignty and solidarity systems.

  • ODD 3 Access to health and well-being, with a view to social justice.

  • ODD 10 Reducing inequalities, in relation to migration dynamics, structural discrimination and human rights.

In a transversal way, we explore interconnections between well-being, climate crisis and social justice, by highlighting the disproportionate impact of climate change on the most vulnerable populations and countries.
