Experiences

Every year from January to June, the Friendship Ecoles Connectées project, which has been running for 5 years, brings together secondary school pupils in France, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Belgium, with secondary school pupils in Bangladesh for live exchanges on the theme of climate change. The students are then invited to take action in favor of the climate. In Luxembourg, more than 8 schools have already taken part in one or more editions of the program.

Some students then take part in a study trip to the site in October-November, and are invited to become ambassadors for the climate cause by giving their testimonies on their return.

Missions of the organization

In Bangladesh, a country facing humanity's greatest challenges, our mission is to strengthen marginalized communities and empower people to transform their lives and reach their full potential. Friendship carries out this mission through 4 commitments:

  • Saving lives
  • Reducing poverty
  • Adapting to climate change
  • Promoting emancipation

Network / partnership

International partners: Friendship NGO in Bangladesh and Friendship France, and the Malala Fund, The Learning Planet Institute

Organization objectives

The Ecoles Connetées program is an intercultural exchange between Lycée students in Luxembourg and secondary school students in Bangladesh on the theme of Climate Change:

Its objectives are to enable students to

  • understand the reality of the day-to-day impacts of climate change in diverse local contexts.
  • promote mutual understanding of the causes and consequences of climate change.
  • work together internationally and inspire each other to share adaptation solutions.
  • become ambassadors for the climate cause by raising awareness among those around them.
